The absolute highlight of the week came from the Sunday bulletin at the church I intend here in Zambia, the Cathedral of the Child Jesus.
“Today on the feast of Epiphany, there will be a second collection in all the three Masses. This collection is sent to the Vatican for running and carrying out the activities of the Holy Childhood throughout the Catholic Church. As you offer, remember the three Wise men from the East who offered their precious gifts of Gold, Incense, and Mule”.
In terms of sheer practicality, ‘mule’ was probably the most rational gift to give someone born in a stable. I personally like the amended version.
