If someone were asked to describe my life over the past few days and were allowed only two words, I'm fairly confident they would find themselves spending the next few minutes deciding between "sheer dominance" and "ridiculously awesome".
The latter is a fairly obvious choice. I'm pretty much ridiculously awesome 100% of the time. So, for the sake of variety, I'll go ahead and characterize the past few days as 'sheer dominance'. I am in the final stages of finishing up an analysis that I've been working on for a month or so and it's been an unrelenting process of me doing one thing, sharing the results with everyone, and inspiring additional requests to supplement everything I had just done. Sure, it's been hectic, but that also implies productivity and that makes me happy.
Anyways, as a reward for several days of productivity, I figured I would reward myself with my favorite meal at my favorite restaurant: Thai Beef Salad at Kilimanjaro. I make the twenty minute walk over there around 5:30 with Yong, a new employee who just started a few weeks ago and does essentially the same job as me. The walk was reasonably uneventful, save for me purchasing cell phone talk time from one of the doods on the street and dealing with heckling from some Zambians who I believe were trying to ask 'why I was walking like a dancing queen?' I'm not going to lie, I wasn't terribly enthused with this question when it was immediately posed, but (1) I'm not 100% confident he was asking it about me instead of Yong and (2) after you detach the personal insult aspect of it it is kinda funny. So, we get to the shopping center where the restaurant is and find them putting chairs on all of the tables. Apparently this restaurant closes at 6:00 p.m. FAAANTASTIC.
So, I lamely walk all the way back to work ( I still have stuff to finish) with no food. However, since I am exuding 'sheer dominance', I finish the work quickly, write some phenomenal e-mails, and get ready to go home around 7:45 p.m.. Refusing to eat pasta with butter for dinner for the 2nd straight night, I decide to walk to the pizza shop and pray that they are open. Yahtzee!! I walk home and immediately start making the country time lemonade mix my Mom sent me for Christmas (such a ridiculously clutch present). The ground beef, pepperoni, and macon (that's not a typo...I think it's some variant of bacon, but I've learned to stop asking questions you don't really wanna knoe the answer to) pizza was 'Ehh', but whatever...it's pizza.
Finally, I cap it all off with a Pepsi, marking my 3rd soda experience of the year. Work ownage, pizza, CT lemonade, and Pepsi....if that's not 'sheer dominance', I dunno what is...
Speaking of dominance, a quick note on my Wild Card picks. Boooooooo B-Roth corrolary hitting a temporary road bump. Boooooo me being forced to use early lines instead of waiting for closer to game time lines (which I woulda waited for on Steelers game) and going 1-3 instead of at worst 2-2 and possibly 2-1-1. Whatever. Here's this weeks picks.
Cowboys -7.5
Jags +13.5
Colts -8.5
and finally the Seahawks +8.5 because Hassleback wants the ball and he's going to score.
I also want to go on record with the following prediction b/c I'm about 99.72% confident it's going to happen and I wanna make sure it's documented.
Seahawks v Green Bay goes to OT
Seahawks win the toss
Hassleback throws a pick 6
